- I have an existing system management product in place. What are the system requirements if I want to integrate with this SMS notification feature?
- Our solution can integrate with various system management products in the market. The system management server should be running Windows 2000 / 2003 / XP / Vista, with 100 MB free disk space, and a serial port / USB port available. You will also need a SIM card with SMS service subscription.
- I want to notify multiple support staff for problems. What is the throughput for sending SMS messages?
- In general, the bottleneck is on the mobile operator side. When there are multiple alerts, our system will queue up the SMS messages for sending. We have tested to achieve about 5 to 10 SMS messages per minute.
- There are some mobile network operators providing SMS gateway services, what are the differences between ServiceTech's solution?
- Mobile network operators are primarily providing SMS gateway for bulk SMS transfer, like stock prices, flight information, etc. Most of them would require software development like HTTP or XML technology for connection to the operator's SMS gateway. The mobile network operators will charge a monthly fee based on the actual SMS usage.
ServiceTech solution is more suitable for low volume SMS usage, and has the following characteristics:
- No internet connection required
- No software programming required
- Depending on the SIM card of the GSM Modem, some mobile operators may offer free intra-network SMS
- Freedom of choice, no configuration changes necessary when switching mobile network operator
- I am a customer of your SMS gateway software, how do I obtain a license key?
- The license key is included with the delivery note or package when shipped to customers. Customers can also request a license key with our customer registration form, we will verify the information and send it to you through email.
